The problem
Getting clothes made to measure usually means finding a tailor by word of mouth, explaining the style over WhatsApp, guessing at prices and paying up front with nothing to fall back on. Good tailors, in turn, have no place to show their work, take orders from outside their street or get paid safely.
What we built
We built Sticha as a marketplace on the freelance model. Tailors publish gigs with Basic, Standard and Premium packages, a portfolio and reviews. Customers either buy a gig or post a job with a budget and due date and pick from the proposals tailors send. A four-step order collects the item type, design preferences, material and measurements, which customers can type in or take from photos, read by an AI model.
Payment goes into escrow with Stripe, or through PayPal or crypto, and is released to the tailor's wallet when the order is delivered. Shipping labels and tracking come from Shippo and FedEx. Customers and tailors chat in real time, and either side can open a dispute. There are three apps on one Node.js API: the marketing site and marketplace, a portal for customers, tailors and admins, and a mobile app for iOS and Android.
