The problem
Gan'na's trauma-informed healing circles work in person, but participants needed a safe way to keep going between sessions and in communities far from a circle: somewhere to reflect, track how connected they feel and follow a structured program at their own pace.
What we built
We built an Expo app that adapts the 7-step model for the phone. Onboarding introduces Gan'na and its founder; a guided check-in asks how connected people feel to body, mind, family, community, culture, Country and spirit. Aunty, an illustrated Elder, guides each step.
Participants choose Gan'na Ceremonies or the 30-Day Program, which delivers each day as video, reading or a prompt to answer in text, photo, video, audio or drawing. Daily goals, a private journal and resources sit alongside, and a Node.js API pins each person to a program version so their progress stays intact.
